He recibido la noticia del fallecimiento de Niurka Seijas, Awoyó Adá, cuya iniciación dirigí en Venezuela en 1983. La muerte de Awoyó Adá me es de suma tristeza, como estoy seguro que lo es para sus seres queridos, ya que era una mujer joven y llena de vida. Lamentablemente, Ikú no discrimina. Siempre la recordaré con afecto ya que fue muy noble y cariñosa conmigo. Le extiendo mi más sentido pésame a sus familiares y a sus omorishas y me uno a ellos en sus ruegos por el descanso de su alma. Ibá é l’ayént’orún Awoyó Adá.

I have just received news of the passing of Niurka Seijas, Awoyó Adá, whose ordination I directed in Venezuela in 1983. Her death saddens me tremendously; as I am sure it has saddened her loved ones, especially because she was a relatively young woman and full of life. Unfortunately, Ikú does not discriminate. I will always remember her fondly for she was always very respectful and loving with me. I extend my sincerest condolences to her family and omorisha, and I join them in beseeching the heavens for her eternal rest. Ibá é l’ayént’orún Awoyó Adá.
