Miami, Florida

We are greatly saddened by the loss of Tita Rodríguez, Adé Ekún, who passed away in Miami yesterday, February 4th. Tita—who practically knew me since I was a kid in New York—assited me with the direction of the Cabildo Yoruba in this city during the 1980s and proved herself to be a very valuable asset for the organization. She was an indefatigable fighter, sharp, determined, and obstinate on more than one occasion, and especially when she believed in a cause and defended it. I know that her loss will create a large vacuum in the life of many people. I extend my most sincere condolences to her family and omorisha. Ibá é l’ayént’orún Adé Ekún.
